Hello Volendam!

In our recent story, The ‘Wave Season’ Is On, we brought you up to date with the news that six impressive cruise liners are about to arrive in Fremantle. Well, the first of them, Volendam, one of the famed Holland America Line ships, arrived this morning under a cloudy sky just after 6.30 am to a near empty Port. She won’t be alone long though. Container ships will soon surround her, and tomorrow morning, in the wee hours, Queen Mary 2 arrives. What a sight the Port will be then. Get along, take the family down to Victoria Quay! Volendam’s lucky guests and crew – there’s one crew member for every two guests on board, who together add up to around 1500 folk – get to stay two days in and around Freo. Say Hello Volendam! if you see them around Freo.
