Eventually, she departs!

FREO TODAY

Freo Today. 11 April 2026. We thought the Coral Geographer, a cute little cruiser that arrived in Freo yesterday at 6.30 am, was on a turnaround visit and heading back to Broome late yesterday. Then we discovered this morning she was departing at 8.30 this morning. So we pottered down to the Port to watch her leave. After much fart-arseing around – a technical maritime expression for seemingly doing not much for an inordinate amount of time, including waving cranes and derricks about in apparent homage to the performance of the New Fremantle Traffic Bridge cranes just up river – Coral Geographer departed around 9.15 after a final pirouette in the middle of the Inner Harbour. Here she is mid harbour as a magpie (or is it a cormorant?) makes a final passing fling. Bon voyage to Broome, Coral Geographer!
