Back to ‘Woolies’
Freo Today. 12 April 2026.
Yesterday, the WA Skateboarding Association held another of its fun skateboarding events at the Cantonment Street Woolstores – the site that is slated for an apartment redevelopment. The organisers were wanting folk to have the opportunity to reminisce on 40 years of ‘Woolies’ skateboarding before construction work starts.
As always, the event was free to the public and open to all local skateboarders to participate in, as well as anyone who would like to learn how to skateboard. It started at 3pm, and finished around 6pm.
The City of Fremantle kindly closed the street for the afternoon. There were skateboarding lessons, demonstrations, challenges and prizes – and the usual lineup of fearless young skateboarders wanting to test out the skills of the paramedics!
The event was supported by City of Fremantle, 20talk, Beyond Skate and Red Bull.
