Freo Today. 6 March 2024. Amy Perejuan-Capone’s Festival of Perth Defendo exhibition closes this Sunday, 10 March, at the Atrium Gallery, Old Customs House, 8 Phillimore Street, Fremantle. It’s been a busy time for her and Shelly with folk from the big cruise ships, Festival goers and plenty of Freo folk calling by. Don’t miss the closing party on Sunday between 3-5 pm. All welcome! Featuring an intricately embroidered full-scale replica of a WWII aircraft, Defendo explores the painful ironies, survival choices and cultural intricacies of a hidden family heritage within a Colonial and personal context.
