Who’s Winning The Electoral Gifts Flurry in Freo?

Under the Local Government (Electoral) Regulations –
• Any gift valued at $300 or more (or multiple gifts from the same donor totalling $300+) must be disclosed by a candidate.
• Candidates must submit a disclosure within 3 days of receiving or being promised the gift.
• Upon nomination, candidates must disclose all gifts received in the 6 months prior

So, in the City of Fremantle local government elections so far: who is donating to whom? How much? And who’s winning the donation flurry?

Here’s the City of Fremantle Electoral Gift Register as of 15 September.

On this basis, Mayoral candidate and current Mayor Hannah Fitzhardinge leads the donations flurry with $3920, followed by Mayoral candidate Ben Lawver with $2000, and then East Ward Councillor hopeful Nick Everett with $1605.27, a sum donated by his WA Socialists colleague standing in North Ward, Tyler Ray.

To date no other donations have been recorded, but we’ll keep an eye on the Register for you.
