Declared Gifts

And we already have one declared gift under the local government gift disclosure regulations that require gifts to the value of $300 or more made since April to to be disclosed.

The disclosure period for the 2025 local government elections began on 18 April 2025 and ends:
• 3 days after election day for unsuccessful candidates
• On the start date for financial interest returns for successful candidates

During this period:
• Any gift valued at $300 or more (or multiple gifts from the same donor totalling $300+) must be disclosed
• Candidates must submit a disclosure within 3 days of receiving or being promised the gift
• Upon nomination, candidates must disclose all gifts received in the 6 months prior

These disclosures go to the CEO of the local government, who must publish them in the electoral gift register—as per Regulation 30G.

Postal Voting

You can start postal voting soon but also turn up at a polling booth to vote in election day, Saturday 18 October 2025.

Here’s the election timeline.
