Freo Hits Big Time With Top Tourist Town Award!

Last night, on the closing night of the 2025 Perth Airport WA Tourism Conference held in Fremantle, the 7NEWS WATop Tourism Town Award šŸ† was awarded to … 🄁 … City of Fremantle!

This was in recognition of Freo’s commitment to tourism, destination development and high-quality visitor experiences.

The City of Fremantle, ā€œthe destinationā€, is now in the running for the National Awards.

Here’s Fremantle’s Mayor, Hannah Fitzhardinge, celebrating the moment last night along with (left to right) WA Environment Minister Matthew Swinbourn, Hannah Fitzhardinge, Channel Seven Personality Angela Sun, Heather from the Fremantle Visitor Centre, Chrissie Maus, Fremantle Chamber of Commerce and CaitlinĀ Skinner, City of Fremantle.

An ecstatic Chrissie Maus, CEO of Fremantle Chamber of Commerce who has supported Freo’s charge to this success, told FSN today –

Winning Top Tourism Town isn’t just a feather in Fremantle’s cap, it’s a full-blown peacock moment. This honour belongs to every passionate local, tireless changemaker and quiet achiever who pours their heart into our Port City each day. Fremantle’s greatest asset has always been its people, fiercely creative, beautifully unconventional and never afraid to do things our own way. I’m ridiculously proud to live, work and wave the Freo flag high. She’s a special place and last night everyone remembered that too.
