Dear Klara and Freya and Thomas and Elliot,
I wanted to take just a moment to answer the question that so many children, and even adults, have wondered about forever: Is Santa Claus real? And the answer, Klara and Freya and Thomas anmd Elliot, is yes. There really is a Santa Claus.
In fact, I keep receiving messages from him, like this one where’s he’s waving to us all from his campsite on the Nullabor Plains as he drives his beach buggy to Fremantle!
But before you picture someone who only wears a warm red suit in the middle of Summer, and slides down chimneys, let me tell you about who Santa truly is.
Santa is more than just a person; he’s the spirit of giving, kindness, and joy. He lives in the hearts of everyone who believes in magic, in hope, and in the power of generosity. Every time someone goes out of their way to bring happiness to another – whether it’s wrapping a special gift, sharing a warm meal, or simply offering kindness and a hug – that’s Santa at work.
The letters and cards and messages we send, the carrots and treats we leave out, and the excitement we feel on Christmas Eve all keep this spirit alive. And every time you laugh with your family, think Poppy is losing it for sure, share a gift, or believe in something greater than yourself, you’re helping Santa work his magic.
Now, some might say that Santa is just a story. But isn’t it incredible how one story can inspire so many people to spread love and kindness? That’s how you know Santa is real. He might not always come down chimneys these days, but you’ll find him in the sparkle of Christmas lights, in the sound of carols, like all around South Fremantle’s streets last night, and in the love we share with one another.
So, Klara and Freya and Thomas and Elliot, when you wake up on Christmas morning, surrounded by the warmth of your family and the excitement of the day, know that Santa is there — because he’s in you, and he’s in everyone who believes in the magic of giving.
Merry Christmas, you guys. Keep believing in the magic, because the world is better when we do.
♥️
Poppy
