HANDBRAKE’s ‘Chaos Concludes’ about to descend on The Naval Store

Renowned West Australian artist Hans Bruechle aka HANDBRAKE will unveil his biggest solo exhibition to date, Chaos Concludes, on Saturday 12 October 2024, taking over Fremantle’s historic Naval Store and transforming the space into an immersive art experience where a cinematic projection installation will bring a large-scale new HANDBRAKE mural to life.

Building off the successes of previous exhibitions Chaos Controlled and Chaos Rising in 2018 and 2021 respectively, Chaos Concludes is the final installment of HANDBRAKE’s acclaimed ‘Chaos’ series. This year’s show promises to be the artist’s most dynamic yet, marking the end of an era and the beginning of a new creative chapter for HANDBRAKE.

Fans of the artist can expect chaos synonymous with HANDBRAKE’s typical style, with the 18+ exhibition featuring a collection of the artist’s latest gallery works, prints and apparel. In addition to new works, the award-winning HANDBRAKE x Rogue Motorcycles cafe racer and hand-painted Tesla Model S will be on display.

Saturday night guests will enjoy beers, ginger beer and alcoholic lemonade by Margaret River Beer Co, a Stoli Vodka x Handbrake martini ice luge and a specially designed “HANDBRAKE” cocktail created for ‘the end of the world’ at the cash bar PLUS complimentary Mexican street food by Al Pastor. Free HANDBRAKE tattoos are available to be inked by the team at Artful Ink for attendees as well as live DJs and an array of surprises. Past events have seen a long queue for the free tattoos, so best to arrive early as it’s first in first served!

HANDBRAKE enthused, “The centrepiece for this exhibition – my biggest yet – is a unique installation combining a large-scale mural, with motion design and animation by Jhan Fung projected onto the painted surface, and all set to a custom, synchronized soundscape created by international music producer Devante. I can’t wait to show Perth what we have created.”

Whilst HANDBRAKE’s recent commissions include high profile brands such as Lamborghini, Jack Daniels, Porsche, and Harley Davidson, Chaos Concludes represents a step in a new direction; a culmination of his recent work and an exciting leap into unchartered artistic territories, away from branded projects.

Mark your calendars now so you don’t miss the unforgettable conclusion to HANDBRAKE’s ‘Chaos’ series and the chance to experience art in a way like never before.
