Born Sandy Devotional – RECOMPOSED’

On Saturday August 24, Adrian Kingwell and The Ins/Outs Collective present, “Born Sandy Devotional – RECOMPOSED”.

Fremantle/Walyalup-based composer-educator, Adrian Kingwell, has reworked The Triffids’ “absolute masterpiece” album, “Born Sandy Devotional” to allow contemporary audiences to re-engage with the album from a new perspective.

Performed by The Ins/Outs Collective, featuring:

· Adrian Kingwell – Composer, arranger, Voice, Synthesizers, Mandolin
· Adrian Soares – Piano

· Alex Thomson – Clarinet

This recomposition serves as a bridge for audiences to not only rediscover “one of the great Australian albums”, but to connect to the rich and dynamic musical traditions of Western Australia. It will all happen inside one of Fremantle/Walyalup’s most historically significant architectural gems – the old P&O Hotel (now the Fremantle Culture Club and Ode to Sirens).

The Fremantle Culture Club is a new venture in the heart of Fremantle’s West End. It is a revival of both space and culture, allowing tradition to meet innovation. The Ins/Outs Collective are proud to bring their contemporary approach to notated music to this new space.
