Seacorp Donates New $250,000 Mobile Clinic To Freo Street Doctor

Freo Street Doctor, a mobile health service provided by Black Swan Health around greater Fremantle to assist disadvantaged people, has just acquired a new mobile clinic worth $250,000 thanks to the wonderful philanthropic support of Seacorp , a Fremantle headquartered subsidiary of the Thompson Shipping Group, one of the world’s leading independently owned shipping services houses.

Craig Thompson, Rosemary Thompson, Jessi Genovesi (Seacorp), Alistair Vickery, Terina Grace and Sarah Tadier at Fremantle Oval.

Last Friday, at Fremantle Oval, Mr Craig Thompson, owner of Thompson Shipping Group and a scion of a well known Fremantle family, along with Black Swan Health’s CEO Terina Grace, Chief Operations Officer Sarah Tadier and Board Chair Alistair Vickery, were on hand to witness Mr Thompson’s wife, Rosemary Thompson, cutting the ribbon to mark the delivery of the new van to the Freo Street Doctor.

In marking the occasion, Mr Thompson, who has has been a champion of Black Swan Health since 2017, emphasised the invaluable role the Freo Street Doctor plays in the community, noting that: “It is difficult to imagine the lives of the less fortunate residents in the Fremantle area without this crucial service”. He also encouraged other Freo based businesses to rally behind the Freo Street Doctor.

Terina Grace acknowledged the extremely generous donation, thanked Mr Thompson and the Thompson family, and explained the donation – of $250,000 – covered the full purchase and fit out cost of the van.

Ms Grace added the donation was the largest donation in the organisation’s history and couldn’t be for a more worthy purpose or have come at a better time.

Alistair Vickery also acknowledged the “magnificent donation” from Seacorp saying it was pivotal in providing vital healthcare to the unhoused and most in need in the Fremantle community.

Sarah Tadier said the donation was timely as the older of Black Swan Health’s two current mobile medical service vans had reached the age of 19 years and was nearing retirement.
