What Fremantle wrote

Freo Today. 30 May 2026. WA Day Long Weekend. ‘Fremantle a Place of Consequence’- a phrase from Captain Charles Howe Fremantle’s diary. In 1832, he wrote “in spite of its sandy and impoverished appearance at landing, I have no doubt of it being in time  a place of consequence. How right he was.
