Pietro Porcelli – Keeping a creative eye on Freo
FREO TODAY

Freo Today. 15 January 2025. It’s so easy to keep walking past things in Freo paying them little heed in your rush to get to wherever you’re going. Like this delightful sculpture in Walyalup Koort commemorating Pietro Porcelli who himself sculptured so many turn-of-the-20th century West Australians of note. This sculpture was done by another fine sculptor, Greg James of Freo. It’s nice isn’t it, having Pietro keeping a creative eye in Freo? (By the way, that’s Sir Hughie Edwards a little farther back in this pic, a sculpture by Andrew Kay of a famous White Gum Valley lad.)
