Festa Siciliana – are you ready?

Freo Today. 2 August 2026. If you happen to wander into Freo’s Cappuccino Strip just now, this is what greets you – all the Festa Siciliana and Rosanero signage. Why? It’s all because top Italian football teams AC Milan, Inter, Juventus and Palermo – among the most successful and widely supported clubs in world football – are arriving in the West in August to strut their stuff. And between 5 and 11 August Freo and Palermo will be celebrating Freo’s Sicilian heritage. The plan is for a week-long celebration of football matches, community events and cultural experiences designed to engage Palermo supporters, the Sicilian and Italian Australian community, and football fans. Fremantle events will take place across the city at Fremantle Oval, Gage Roads Freo and Fremantle Football club, while the city will be transformed into a vibrant Rosanero – Pink and Black – destination.
