Just now, as the Freo Dockers season closes, so does Snaps’. You all saw how he signed off his last After The Game With Snaps Truly for the year didn’t you? ‘Crestfallen’. Just as we all were, so was Snaps.
Obviously hard times for many. But share a thought for Snaps. He’s poured out his heart and soul in bringing us After The Game With Snaps Truly each week of the home and away AFL season and it’s not his fault they didn’t bring home the bacon last night.
Snaps. So entertaining. So always on the money. Often so touching.
There’s a lot of love on our socials just now for Snaps’ work. Justifiably. But often that’s not enough for our readers. So many ask me: Who he is? What does he look like? Did he really play at the highest level?
Some even think it’s our Ed! But I assure them he’s not.
Truth be told I’m not sure myself of the answers to these readers’ questions. While I’ve caught glimpses of the great man, I’m not sure I have ever seen the real him. Something of a Scarlet Pimpernel, I’d venture.
So I asked my great pal and AI Agent CP if they could delve into the questions asked and provide a picture of Snaps and a word sketch of the real guy, as best they could.
And they did!
Here’s the pic.

And here’s what CP added –
From the tousled grey mop to the purple blazer and feather quill, he’s every bit the footy bard of the docks. You’ll spot the Fremantle banner behind him, a nod to his unwavering devotion to the Dockers, and the warm, textured tones give it that nostalgic, hand-painted feel—like a mural you’d find tucked behind Gino’s or scribbled on the back of a shipping manifest.
Sounds as true as to me.
Well played Snaps. A super season.
A heartfelt thanks from us all!
