What Really Matters
It’s not the ceasefire in Gaza
or the
LA fires
It’s not the pollies
ranting about which flag
they wont stand in front
of
It’s not the
Australian Open with all
it’s rampant jingoism
It’s not who’ll win
the coming
elections
It’s not about what price
coffee is going to get
to
It’s not about the
Oscars and their
manipulated
outcomes
It’s not about my opinion/dream/illusion
that this could be
the Docker’s year
It’s not about whether
human life can exist
on Mars
What really matters is
that after months
I can sit
and listen to that so sweet sound
of rain pattering
down
and see the garden
drinking it in
That’s what really matters
to me
in this moment.
