Where have all the campers gone?

Freo Today. 20 March 2024. Our story on the closure of South Mole to campers has had a huge reaction. After the closure, the question exercising the minds of some readers was where the campers would move to. It seemed one obvious area was outside the locked gates on Fleet Street near J Shed and Challemger TAFE. But as of last evening around 6 pm, when this photograph was taken, things were fairly quiet in that area. Only a few vehicles and camper-vans to be seen in the City of Fremantle restricted parking zone. For more, see our Letters to the Editor about the South Mole closure.
