What’s happening?

Freo Today. 11 May 2021. Today, the Fremantle Bridges Alliance of engineering experts, appointed by the State Government, will report to a Swan River Crossing Forum on options for a new traffic bridge to replace the heritage listed Old Traffic Bridge into North Fremantle. The community alliance of the Better Bridge and North Fremantle Community Association campaigns are hoping for engagement on the issues at the Forum. This photograph, courtesy of David Smyth, was taken last Friday. Many Freo people have been worried that it signifies bridge work has already started. One assumes this is just geotechnical and bridge testing work to assist in discussions at the Forum. We will find out today.
