The Stirling Highway/Canning Highway intersection in question

Freo Today. 8 May 2025. This is the intersection – at the southern end of Stirling Bridge where Stirling Highway meets Canning Highway – that for most of 2026, will be closed to traffic, apart from authorised buses, travelling in either direction along Canning Highway. If you missed it, here’s our story with all the Mains Roads WA traffic plans once the Old Traffic Bridge closes to traffic from the beginning of 2026. It’ll be a new level of Dante’s hell getting in and out of Freo for the best part of that year. You’d better start planning how you’ll do it!
