Something of an unsung Port hero

Freo Today. 9 February 2025. Here’s Absolute – a bunkering vessel – leaving Fremantle’s inner harbour after fuelling up Pacific Explorer Cruise ship. Water is gushing from her hawse pipes. After heaving anchor, ships usually flush the hawse pipes with water to clean mud from the anchor locker and chain. Absolute is a 8646 DWT tanker, capable of carrying three grades of fuel and refuels ships in Fremantle, Kwinana and ships at anchor in Gage Roads. Something of an unsung Port hero.
