Shorthorn Express

Freo Today. 7 July 2020, 9.39 am. Shorthorn Express, little livestock carrier, alongside, but mostly obscured, being fed by Absolute1, resident oil products tanker. The Shorthorn flies under the flag of Luxembourg, that well-known maritime country, the tanker under the Australian. Livestock carriers are treated like nuclear powered or armed vessels – Fremantle Ports doesn’t tell us they’re here, where they’ve come from, or where they’re going. Shorthorn is in from Changi, Singapore. Perhaps she’s returning there too? Or off to the Middle East? Pray tell, someone!
