Royal George Redux

Freo Today. 10 November 2020. The year seems not to be walking, or even jogging, to the year’s end, but racing there. And the restoration plus new tower on the Old Royal George Hotel at the eastern end of George Street, East Freo seems to be progressing at the same fast pace. Interested folk will recall that last December the Planning Minister limited the maximum height of the development to ‘28 metres above the lowest point – or around one metre higher than the hotel’s spire – consistent with the Town of East Fremantle’s recommendation and community expectations’.
