No, it’s not turning brown!

Freo Today. 15 August 2024. The things you see when you least expect to. The famed, heritage listed Fremantle Ports’ Port Authority Building, Victoria Quay, Fremantle, turning brown. Is it? We asked Neil Stanbury the head flak at the Port and he advised as follows: ‘We are painting the entire exterior of the port building at the moment. It will be the same colour (cream) that it is now, not the brown, which is just a base coat. This stage of the works on the south and east faces will take place in the coming weeks, with other sections to be done later. When built, the building was tiled externally to reduce maintenance, however over the years, in places, we’ve experienced water ingress past the tiles, requiring painting.’
